Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her Winona in honor of the town she grew up in. Her father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's father was from an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder considers herself Jewish. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. In the year Ryder was just seven years old, her family relocated from Mendocino County, California. Mendocino County California. There, they didn't have electricity. Ryder was a voracious read and often spent her time reading books because there was no TV. In 1983 when she was 12 Ryder was accepted into the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. Lucas was dismissed in the year 1986 and Ryder, then barely 15 years old, landed the role of a leading actress. Ryder experienced bullying at high school. Ryder was hopeful that her work as an actress would make a difference. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. Still, she kept chasing the dreams she had. Her biggest break came in 1988 with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder had a successful role in various films. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one for The Age of Innocence (1996).
